Custom Orders
How I work
Currently, I work with custom orders only. I create one-of-a-kind needle felt pieces based on your ideas. Whether you know exactly what you would like to have, or you have a general idea or theme in mind, I'm happy to discuss the possibilities!
Some ideas of what is possible:
- Mobiles, e.g. for a nursery;
- Keychains;
- Bag charms;
- Seasonal/festive ornaments;
- Matching sets with or without a little magnet, e.g. parent/child keychains or friendship keychains;
- Small sculptures;
- An ornament to the likeliness of your favourite childhood plushie or your pet;
- Fridge magnets;
- Party decorations / cake toppers;
- Small gifts for events / weddings / birthdays.
In case you would like an exact replica of your pet, I unfortunately cannot help you. There are skilled needle felt artists out there who create beautiful realistic sculptures — that's just not my specialty right now. 🙂
Process
Step 1 - 💡 Tell me what you want
Please fill in the form below and be as specific as you can: for example shape, theme, size, colour, quantity, and reference photos. The more details, the better!
Step 2 - ✏️ Feasibility, sketch, timeframe & quote
I’ll review your request and confirm whether it’s doable. If it is, I’ll send a preliminary sketch, an estimated production timeframe, and a written quote. Two free sketch revisions are included; additional sketch revisions are €5 each.
Step 3 - ✅ Happy with the design? Let’s start
To secure the order I require a non‑refundable deposit of 50% (or full payment for orders under €50). Production begins after the deposit is received. Simple projects typically take a few days; larger or multiple‑piece orders can take several weeks. I’ll send progress photos at key stages if requested.
Step 4 - 🎁 Final photos, balance, and shipping
When it’s finished I’ll send photos for approval. The remaining balance is due before I ship. Once paid I’ll confirm the shipping details and send tracking.

🏷️ Pricing
Pricing depends on the size, scale, and detail of the order. However, I understand that it is nice to have some clarity on the costs, so here is a rough estimation on what to expect:
- Keychain: €30 - €100
- Small hanger (e.g. bag charms, seasonal/festive ornaments): €50 - €130
- Mobile (hanging decoration): €150 - €350
- Small sculptures: €100 - €400
These are indicative prices — every piece is unique! If you have a specific budget or idea in mind, feel free to reach out at contact@maistudios.nl and we'll find something that works for you.
⏳ Lead time / turnaround
Each piece is made entirely by hand, so turnaround time varies depending on the complexity and my current workload. As a general guide, smaller pieces (such as keychains and bag charms) typically take 1–2 weeks, while larger or more detailed pieces can take 3–6 weeks. I'll always give you an estimated timeline as part of your quote, and I'll let you know if anything changes along the way.
💳 Payment terms
A 50% deposit is required to confirm your order and reserve your spot in my schedule. The remaining balance is due once the piece is finished and before it is shipped. Payment can be made via bank transfer. If you have any questions about payment, feel free to reach out at contact@maistudios.nl.
📦 Shipping
Shipping costs are included in your quote. Where possible, I'll offer you a choice of carriers — including DHL, PostNL, and DPD — so you can pick what suits you best. I ship both within the Netherlands, across the EU, and worldwide.
💬 Returns
Since every piece is made to order, I'm unable to offer returns. Throughout the process, I'll give you plenty of opportunities to share your wishes and preferences — and for more complex or larger pieces, I'll keep you updated at key stages. If your order arrives damaged, please contact me at contact@maistudios.nl and we'll work it out together.
🫧 Safety & care
These pieces are purely decorative and not suitable for children or pets, as they contain small parts and delicate fibres. Please handle with care and keep out of reach of little hands and paws 🐾.
To keep your piece looking its best, avoid moisture and rough handling. If needed, spot clean carefully by gently dabbing with a soft, damp cloth — no harsh cleaning agents.
