Hi, I'm Talia — a needle felt artist based in Almere, The Netherlands, and the maker behind Mai Studios.

In 2023, I started with needle felting to make unique gifts for my colleagues when I changed jobs, thinking it would be a one-time activity. However, I enjoyed the process of making them and the presents were so well received that I started making gifts for family and friends as well.

I love to see how it all starts with large tufts of wool before it slowly shrinks and shapes itself too a small figurine. The process of making a piece takes time, which makes it all the more rewarding when I see someone light up receiving it. I hope I can create something for you that brings that same joy.
